Burdened - with a back seat driver? (7)
I believe the answer is:
saddled
'burdened' is the definition.
('saddle' can be a synonym of 'burden')
'back seat driver?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'seat' could be 'saddle' (saddle is a kind of seat) and 'saddle' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'd' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'with a' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for saddled that I've seen before include "Encumbered" , "Horse might be" , "Burdened with" , "stuck" , "Like a racehorse" .)
