Crossword Genius

Business in time makes money (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

coinage

'money' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'business in time' is the wordplay.
'business' becomes 'co' (short for company).
'time' becomes 'age' (an age is a period of time).
'co'+'in'+'age'='COINAGE'

'makes' is the link.

(Other definitions for coinage that I've seen before include "Metal currency" , "for the new term" , "in notes? No" , "Invention of a new word or phrase, say" , "Royal Mint's output" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail and The Telegraph.
