Cane beyond the pale? (3)
I believe the answer is:
tan
This clue could be a double definition.
'cane' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.
'beyond the pale?' is the second definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tan that I've seen before include "Thrash" , "Tawny" , "Get the effect of the sun." , "Brown colour acquired from sun" , "Lightish brown colour" .)
