Catching sight of good way to deal with matter? (8)
I believe the answer is:
glancing
'catching sight of good' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with motion as well as being present participle verbs.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'way to deal with matter?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'way' could be 'n' (Compass direction - North) and 'n' is found within the answer.
'matter?' could be 'lac' (lac is a kind of matter) and 'lac' is found in the remaining letters.
The remaining letters 'ging' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for glancing that I've seen before include "Having a quick look" , "blows are like this" , "Glimpsing" , "(Of blow) bouncing off" , "Giving a brief look" .)
