Celebrated cup (and flag) to enshrine wrestling glory (4,5)
I believe the answer is:
holy grail
'celebrated cup' is the definition.
'Holy Grail' can be an answer for 'cup' (Holy Grail is an example). I am not certain of the 'celebrated' bit.
'flag to enshrine wrestling glory' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'glory' is 'olygr' which is located in the answer.
'flag' could be 'hail' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'hail' is located in the remaining letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'and' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for holy grail that I've seen before include "Cup that was much sought after?" , "Object of search" , "In legend, the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper" , "Chalice used by Christ at the Last Supper" , "Christ's cup at the Last Supper, sought by medieval knights" .)
