Certainly not liking "The Day After The Earthquake" (6)
I believe the answer is:
hatred
'the earthquake' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't see how one could define the other.
'certainly not liking the day' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is found within the answer.
'day' could be 'd' (abbreviation for day) and 'd' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'hare' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'after' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for hatred that I've seen before include "Animus" , "Antipathy" , "Deep dislike and aversion" , "Violent emotion" , "hostility" .)
