Change direction around river path (5)
I believe the answer is:
track
'path' is the definition.
(I know that track is a type of path)
'change direction around river' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'change' could be 'rack' (rack is a kind of change) and 'rack' is located in the answer.
A single letter 't' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for track that I've seen before include "Foorprint or trail" , "Rough path or road" , "Parallel rails for wheels" , "recording" , "Single item on a CD" .)
