Change initially tight spending plan (6)
I believe the answer is:
budget
'spending plan' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'change initially tight' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'change' could be 'get' (getting is a kind of changing) and 'get' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'bud' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for budget that I've seen before include "cost estimate" , "Financial estimate" , "Chancellor's proposals" , "occasion for speech" , "Plan of income and expenditure" .)
