Change the direction of a blow (4)
I believe the answer is:
veer
This might be a double definition.
'change' is the first definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'direction of a blow' is the second definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with motion as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'the' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for veer that I've seen before include "Sudden direction change" , "Change direction abruptly" , "Change direction or course, like wind" , "Suddenly change direction" , "Turn sharply" .)
