prosit

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'cheers' is the definition.
(German word used when raising a toast)

'person getting paid to be a model' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'person' could be 'pro' (pro is a kind of person) and 'pro' is found within the answer.
'be' could be 'sit' (sitting is a kind of being) and 'sit' is found within the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for prosit that I've seen before include "down the hatch" , "Good luck to you" , "Drinking call, good health to you" , "Happy days, perhaps" , "I sport with a drinking toast in Germany" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
