Chore that's beginning or ending on request (4)
I believe the answer is:
task
'chore' is the definition.
(I know that chore can be written as task)
'beginning or ending on request' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'request' could be 'ask' (to ask is to request something) and 'ask' is found within the answer.
A single letter 't' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'that's' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for task that I've seen before include "exercise" , "Give mission" , "Errand, duty" , "Difficult piece of work" , "Job of work" .)
