Christmas decorations can sell once reduced (6)
I believe the answer is:
tinsel
'christmas decorations' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'can sell once reduced' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'can' could be 'tin' (both are metal containers) and 'tin' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'sel' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tinsel that I've seen before include "Listen; it's shiny decorative stuff" , "Gaudy decoration" , "Glittering metal foil strip" , "Enlist the glittering decoration" , "Shiny decoration" .)
