Clever remark very good spread round about (7)
I believe the answer is:
epigram
'clever remark' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'very good spread round about' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'good' could be 'pi' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'pi' is found within the answer.
'about' could be 'a' (abbreviation in Chambers) and 'a' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for epigram that I've seen before include "A clever witty saying" , "Concise witty saying" , "Witty or sarcastic saying" , "short satirical poem" , "witty comment" .)
