Commemorated being famous (10)
I believe the answer is:
celebrated
'famous' is the definition.
(I know that famous can be written as celebrated)
'commemorated being' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'being' could be 'brat' (brat is a kind of being) and 'brat' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for celebrated that I've seen before include "Did something enjoyable (to mark an event)" , "Observed (festival); famous" , "Publicly honoured" , "Rejoiced - famous" , "Notable" .)
