Crossword Genius

Commercial for Indian flower sample (10)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

industrial

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'commercial' is the definition.
(thesaurus)

'indian flower sample' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'flower' could be 'indus' (Indus River is an example) and 'indus' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'trial' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'for' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for industrial that I've seen before include "plants may be so described" , "Relating to manufacture" , "Rapid social changes, starting in Britain from about 1760" , "Like some business" , "Type of action" .)

I've seen this clue in the Irish Times.
