Companions at the breakfast table (5,3,4)
I believe the answer is:
bacon and eggs
'breakfast table' is the definition.
'bacon and eggs' can be an answer for 'breakfast' (I've seen this before). I'm unsure of the 'table' bit.
'companions at' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'at' could be 'on' (location) and 'on' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'the' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bacon and eggs that I've seen before include "flower" , "Heart of a traditional English" , "fatty food" , "breakfast" .)
