Composition everyone has asked about (7)
I believe the answer is:
ballade
'composition' is the definition.
(I know that ballade is a type of composition)
'everyone has asked about' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'everyone' could be 'all' (all people) and 'all' is located in the answer.
'asked' could be 'bad' (bidding is a kind of asking) and 'bad' is located in the leftover letters.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ballade that I've seen before include "Musical composition" , "Piece for piano" , "Short lyrical composition" , "Poem" , "Able lad (anag) - composition for piano" .)
