Composition using organ in church — is it Bliss? (9)
I believe the answer is:
ignorance
'bliss?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'composition using organ in church' is the wordplay.
'composition' becomes 'in' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'using' indicates anagramming the letters (the letters used in a different way).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'church' becomes 'CE' (abbreviation for Church of England).
'organ' anagrammed gives 'gnora'.
'in' enclosing 'gnora' is 'ignoran'.
'ignoran'+'ce'='IGNORANCE'
'is it' is the link.
This may not be right. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ignorance that I've seen before include "Ken lacking" , "lack of awareness" , "may be considered bliss" , "Stupidity" , "in all innocence" .)
