Conflict getting round attack (5)
I believe the answer is:
foray
'attack' is the definition.
(I know that foray is a type of incursion)
'conflict getting round' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'round' could be 'o' (round can mean a round object) and 'o' is located in the answer.
'conflict' could be 'fray' (fray is a kind of conflict) and 'fray' is found in the remaining letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for foray that I've seen before include "Raid into enemy territory" , "Raid for plunder" , "Brief incursion" , "Depredation" , ".A sudden attack or raid" .)
