Confusing introduction, many admitted (7)
I believe the answer is:
addling
'confusing' is the definition.
(addling is a kind of confusing)
'introduction many admitted' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'many' could be 'l' and 'l' is present in the answer.
'admitted' could be 'in' (eg someone might be admitted into a group) and 'in' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for addling that I've seen before include "Taking order from" , "Becoming rotten" .)
