Conveniently taking time out for run? Not quite (6)
I believe the answer is:
nearly
'not quite' is the definition.
(nearly can mean not quite or almost)
'conveniently taking time out for run?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'time' could be 'early' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'early' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'n' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for nearly that I've seen before include "Almost, well-nigh" , "Give out a bright light" , "Close" , "Almost, not quite" , "More or less" .)
