Correct conclusion in the morning, originally (5)
I believe the answer is:
amend
'correct' is the definition.
(amending is a kind of correcting)
'conclusion in the morning originally' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'conclusion' could be 'amen' (I have seen 'Conclusion of prayer' mean 'amen' so perhaps 'conclusion' could also mean 'amen') and 'amen' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'd' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for amend that I've seen before include "Corrct error, make a minor aleration" , "Make minor improvements to (something)" , "Alter in detail" , "Modify - edit" , "Change for the better" .)
