Count money put in not so long ago (8)
I believe the answer is:
recently
'not so long ago' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'count money put in' is the wordplay.
'count' becomes 'rely' (I've seen this in another clue).
'money put' becomes 'cent' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'in' indicates putting letters inside.
'rely' going around 'cent' is 'RECENTLY'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for recently that I've seen before include "Happening not long ago" , "Adverb meaning not long ago" , "In the near past" , "Lately" , "Not so long since" .)
