Country roads twisting, say, near the middle (7)
I believe the answer is:
senegal
'country' is the definition.
(Senegal is an example)
'roads twisting say near the middle' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'say' could be 'eg' and 'eg' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for senegal that I've seen before include "W African republic" , "Land" , "Sea glen in the African state" , "Country surrounding the Gambia" , "French-speaking west African republic" .)
