Covers eyes, we hear, to turn over (7)
I believe the answer is:
capsize
'turn over' is the definition.
(I know that capsize is a kind of the turn over)
'covers eyes we hear' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'covers' could be 'caps' (capping is a kind of covering) and 'caps' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ize' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for capsize that I've seen before include "Turn so that keel faces upwards" , "Overturn (a boat)" , "Of boat, turn turtle" , "Upset" .)
