I believe the answer is:

'crackers' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'temporarily unavailable' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'unavailable' could be 'out' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'out' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
