Creamy-white, like a Welshman? (5)
I believe the answer is:
ivory
'creamy-white' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'like a welshman?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'like' could be 'y' (similar in meaning) and 'y' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'ivor' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
(Other definitions for ivory that I've seen before include "Piano-key" , "Like the tower" , "Country on the Gulf of Guinea, a former French protectorate" , "on either side of trunk" , "Some hunt this" .)
