Cross-country runner going through Paris (5)
I believe the answer is:
seine
'cross-country runner' is the definition.
'Seine' can be an answer for 'runner' (river in France). I'm unsure of the 'cross-country' bit.
'going through paris' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'through' could be 'in' and 'in' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'see' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for seine that I've seen before include "French river -- type of fishing net" , "Paris's river" , "Second longest river in France" , "Paris river" , "Parisian river" .)
