Current issue between banks in Germany (5)
I believe the answer is:
rhine
'in germany' is the definition.
(I know that Rhine is part of Germany)
'current issue between banks' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'current' could be 'in' ('in' can mean current or trendy) and 'in' is located in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rhine that I've seen before include "Great German river with Lorelei Rock" , "water" , "River, rising in Switzerland and flowing into the North Sea" , "River at Bonn, Koln" , "Flower" .)
