Dark here? Problem getting top off underwear (5)
I believe the answer is:
umbra
'dark' is the definition.
(I know that umbra is a type of shadow)
'here? problem getting top off underwear' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'top' could be 'bra' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'bra' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'um' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for umbra that I've seen before include "Area of total shadow" , "Deep shadow" , "Shade, or ghost" , "Shadow's inner region" , "Black spot" .)
