Daunt about a weekend (7)
I believe the answer is:
overawe
'daunt' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'about a weekend' is the wordplay.
'about' becomes 'over' (both can mean around).
'a weekend' becomes 'awe' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'over'+'awe'='OVERAWE'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for overawe that I've seen before include "Inhibit through a sense of fear or reverence" , "put off" , "Daunt, intimidate" , "Overcome with fear and wonder" , "Fill with fear and wonder" .)
