Deceptive move in ruling? (5)
I believe the answer is:
feint
'deceptive move' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'ruling?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'ruling?' could be 'in' (the ruling party is voted 'in') and 'in' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'fet' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'in' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for feint that I've seen before include "Deceptive manoeuvre" , "Misleading action" , "False fencing trust sounds dim" , "Sell a dummy" , "Deceptive movement designed to distract" .)
