Ross

I believe the answer is:

feint

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'deceptive movement' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'not easy to discern one hears' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'not' could be 'nt' (synonyms) and 'nt' is found in the answer.
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for feint that I've seen before include "Mock attack" , "False fencing trust sounds dim" , "Deceptive move by a boxer, for example" , "Deceptive movement designed to distract" , "Deceptive manoeuvre" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
