Ross

I believe the answer is:

earring

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'decoration' is the definition.
(earring is a kind of decoration)

'sound receiver' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'sound' could be 'ring' (ring is a kind of sound) and 'ring' is found within the answer.
'receiver' could be 'ear' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'ear' is found in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'for a' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for earring that I've seen before include "Piece of jewellery" , "Lobe pendant" , "connection between girl and pearl" , "Aural pendant" , "Stud, perhaps, or a drop?" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
