Deity: the disorder she caused is endless (6)
I believe the answer is:
hermes
'deity' is the definition.
(Hermes is an example)
'the disorder she caused is endless' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'she' could be 'her' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'her' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mes' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
(Other definitions for hermes that I've seen before include "Greek messenger god" , "Greek messenger of the gods, like Roman Mercury" , "Messenger and herald of the gods" , "Winged messenger" , "Greek god of commerce and theft" .)
