Delivers with new peels (5)
I believe the answer is:
rinds
'peels' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'delivers with new' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'new' could be 'n' (abbreviation as in New Testament NT) and 'n' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'rids' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rinds that I've seen before include "Hard outer layers" , "Outer layers of fruit" .)
