Ross

I believe the answer is:

short and sweet

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'describing' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I cannot tell whether it can be defined by this definition.

'crumbly well-sugared pastry' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'crumbly' could be 'short' (synonyms) and 'short' is located in the answer.
'sugared' could be 'sweet' (synonyms) and 'sweet' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'and' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

(Other definitions for short and sweet that I've seen before include "Quick to polish off" , "Quick but relevant" , "briefly pleasant" , "pleasantly brief" , "Quickly and to the point" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
