Describing pre-arranged loathing (12)
I believe the answer is:
representing
'describing' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with communicating as well as being present participle verbs.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I don't see?
'pre-arranged loathing' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'pre' is 'rep' which is within the answer.
The remaining letters 'resenting' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for representing that I've seen before include "Speaking for" , "Acting for" .)
