Dim boy holds good degree (5)
I believe the answer is:
misty
'dim' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'boy holds good degree' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'boy' could be 'ty' and 'ty' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mis' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for misty that I've seen before include "'Play - - for me' (Clint Eastwood film)" , "Dim, indistinct" , "Foggy; dim in outline" , "unclear" , "Indistinct in outline" .)
