Disabled in the morning and taken outside (5)
I believe the answer is:
lamed
'disabled' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'morning and taken outside' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'morning' could be 'am' (as in 12:00 AM) and 'am' is located in the answer.
'taken' could be 'led' (to lead someone somewhere is to take them there) and 'led' is located in the leftover letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in the' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lamed that I've seen before include "Crippled" , "With crippling injury" , "Medal (anag)" .)
