Disease of bishop, easily borne (6)
I believe the answer is:
blight
'disease' is the definition.
(blight is a kind of disease)
'bishop easily borne' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'bishop' could be 'b' (chess abbreviation) and 'b' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'light' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'of' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for blight that I've seen before include "Disease - pest" , "Wreck" , "Disease that withers plants like potatoes" , "Spoil - plant disease" , "Plant disease -- calamity" .)
