Dishevelled having suffered blow? (9)
I believe the answer is:
windswept
'dishevelled' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'suffered blow?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'blow?' could be 'wind' (blow is a kind of wind) and 'wind' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'swept' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'having' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for windswept that I've seen before include "beaten by the weather" , "Bedraggled" , "Affected by moving air" , "Exposed to gales" , "affected by gale" .)
