Dislike sulphur being kept away from reactive metal (5)
I believe the answer is:
odium
'dislike' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'sulphur being kept away from reactive metal' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'from' could be 'o' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'o' is located in the answer.
'metal' could be 'u' (U is an example) and 'u' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'dim' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for odium that I've seen before include "Disgrace or contempt" , "Great hatred." , "Loathing, contempt" , "Widespread hatred or abhorrence (5)" , "Widespread contempt or hatred" .)
