Crossword Genius

Dismantle sort of sun labourers (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

unscrew

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dismantle' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their base form, I cannot see how one could define the other.

'sort of sun labourers' is the wordplay.
'sort of' is an anagram indicator.
'labourers' becomes 'crew' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'sun' is an anagram of 'uns'.
'uns'+'crew'='UNSCREW'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for unscrew that I've seen before include "Twist off (a lid or cap)" , "Take off (eg, a lid)" , "Unfasten by twisting" , "Take the top off" , "slack off" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
