Divine healer, but not the genuine article (6)
I believe the answer is:
shaman
'divine healer' is the definition.
'shaman' can be an answer for 'healer' (I have seen 'Spiritual healer' mean 'shaman' so perhaps 'healer' could also mean 'shaman'). I'm unsure of the 'divine' bit.
'not the genuine article' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'article' could be 'an' (indefinite article) and 'an' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'sham' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'but' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for shaman that I've seen before include "Witch doctor" , "Asian medicine man" , "who practises a form of spiritualism?" , "Spiritual healer" , "Tribal medicine man" .)
