I believe the answer is:

brainchild

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'idea' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Bright idea' mean 'brainchild' so perhaps 'idea' could also mean 'brainchild')

'divinity student swallowing short measure inside bar' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'divinity' could be 'ra' (Ra is an example) and 'ra' is located in the answer.
'student' could be 'l' (as in L-plates for learner drivers) and 'l' is found in the answer.
'measure' could be 'bin' (bin is a kind of measure) and 'bin' is located in the remaining letters.
The remaining letters 'chid' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'gets' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for brainchild that I've seen before include "wheeze" , "Original idea or work" , "Bright idea" , "Invention" , "One's original idea" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
