Ross

I believe the answer is:

scrub

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This clue might be a double definition.

'do away with' is the first definition.
(I've seen this before)

'uncultivated vegetation' is the second definition.
'scrub' can be an answer for 'vegetation' (scrub is a kind of vegetation). I am not sure about the 'uncultivated' bit.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for scrub that I've seen before include "remove cosmetic" , "Curbs (anag.)" , "Clean, low vegetation" , "Abandon" , "plants" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
