The answer and definition can be both to do with motion as well as being verbs in their base form.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'impressive work as a huntsman?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'as' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'che' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
