Dog detailed in old debtor's haven (7)
I believe the answer is:
alsatia
This could be a double definition.
'dog' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.
'detailed in old debtor's haven' is the second definition.
The definition and answer can be both locations as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for alsatia that I've seen before include "area around Whitefriars, once" , "Place giving name to German shepherd dogs" , "and German shepherds?" , "old criminal sanctuary" , "place of refuge" .)
