Don’t go right away — wander around (4)
I believe the answer is:
stay
'don't go' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'right away wander around' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'away' could be 'a' (abbreviation as used in sports fixtures) and 'a' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'sty' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stay that I've seen before include "Rope or wire used to support a mast" , "Remain; detain" , "Stop; support" , "hang about" , "Reside" .)
